Customer
"My driveway was horrible and was really nasty from last owners that neglected it severely. They came out and made it look almost brand new after they was done and gave me a very good quote for my house also. Definitely will be using them next time"

"The Suface Medic team did an outstanding job at my home today. They were very detailed and professional. We had planned to paint the exterior of our house in the next few months but we can definitely wait at least until next summer or maybe longer. The cleaning was beautiful and they took such care by not applying too much pressure. I highly recommend Surface Medic!!"

Yes! We hold all required licenses and certifications for the work we perform. We are also fully covered with Commercial Liability Insurance as well as Workers Compensation coverage for our employees. So you can have peace of mind knowing both client and company are protected at all times.
No. While Surface Medic values meeting new clients, we understand busy schedules. While being present for the estimate is beneficial, it is not necessary. However, meeting with our sales associate during the estimate ensures all of your needs and concerns are addressed. For the job itself, you do not have to be there but please refer to our “how to prepare for our arrival” FAQ.
We closely monitor the weather and aim to stay on schedule. Light rain may not be an issue, but for services like roof cleaning, rain or strong winds could lead to rescheduling. In such cases, we will find the earliest available slot for your service.
Generally, most jobs take a day or less to complete. The duration of the cleaning depends on your home’s size and the services scheduled. Our sales associate can provide an estimated timeframe during the initial assessment if needed.
Our biodegradable cleaning agents are a formulation designed to remove and kill the root systems of the organic matter on your home or property. So yes, they can be harmful to your plants if used incorrectly. However, our technicians are highly trained in the proper application methods and proper concentrations to use on specific jobs. We take every foreseeable precaution to ensure that your landscaping is protected during our cleaning process.

Yes, we do ask that you do a few simple things to prepare for our arrival.

  1. Ensure all windows and doors are fully closed and locked.

  2. Remove all potted plants, furniture, decor, or fabric covered items of any kind from our immediate work area (anything you wouldn’t want to get wet or have our cleaning agents get on).

  3. Please make sure all pets are inside and secured.

  4. Make sure vehicles are inside garages or parked away from our work area.

  5. Make sure gates are unlocked and we have access to all areas to be cleaned.

  6. Ensure that outside water spigots are turned on and in good working order.

  7. Make sure all outdoor lights and fans are off and remain off for at least 24 hours after our service.

  8. If you are scheduled for window cleaning, please make sure all screens are removed.

  9. If you are not going to be home, please place a towel on the floor inside each exterior door in case water enters as a result of defective door seals.

Yes, windows will be cleaned during a normal house wash. However, it is not a true “spot free” cleaning. After cleaning, some water spots might be visible due to water left on the glass. Surface Medic does offer a separate SPOT FREE window cleaning service to address this issue. Speak to one of our team members if you are interested in this option.

Soft washing is a low pressure process used to safely and effectively clean your home’s surfaces without utilizing the high pressure methods typically associated with pressure washing companies and unfortunately still used by many companies today. Combined with our biodegradable cleaning agents, our soft washing method safely removes the organic elements (mildew, algae, moss, lichen, etc.) and other staining without the risk of damaging your home’s surfaces.

Surface Medic is committed to property protection and preservation, and we believe utilizing a soft wash approach to our cleaning methods is an integral part of this process. Soft washing is also the preferred method of cleaning for manufactures like ARMA (Asphalt Roofing Manufactures Association) and we try to follow all manufactures recommendations.

If done correctly, house washing should not damage your siding or paint. In fact, regular cleaning can help maintain the longevity and appearance of these surfaces. However, it’s crucial to use the right techniques and equipment. High-pressure washing can potentially cause damage, especially to softer materials like wood or older, more fragile siding. It could strip paint, leave water marks, or even cause physical damage.

That’s why many professionals recommend soft washing for most home exteriors. Soft washing uses lower pressure combined with specialized cleaning solutions to safely remove dirt, mold, algae, and other contaminants. It can be just as effective as high-pressure washing without the risk of damage.

Regardless of the method used, it’s important to hire a professional or thoroughly understand the process before attempting to wash your house yourself. A professional will know the right pressure setting to use for different materials and how to properly apply and rinse cleaning solutions. They’ll also be aware of any potential issues, like windows that can’t withstand high pressure, and adjust their methods accordingly. Special thanks to Moore’s Pressure Washing for providing us with this information!

When looking for a house washer, there are several factors to consider. First and foremost, you should check their experience and expertise. They should have a solid understanding of different types of siding and the best cleaning methods for each. Check their website or ask directly about their experience with your particular type of siding.

Look for reviews and testimonials from past customers. Are they mostly positive? Do customers mention that the company was professional, punctual, and thorough? Also, look at before-and-after photos if available. These can give you a sense of the quality of their work.

Additionally, make sure the house washing service is fully licensed and insured. This protects you from any potential liability in case of accidents during the job. Lastly, inquire about their cleaning methods. As mentioned earlier, soft washing is often recommended for home exteriors to prevent damage. If they only offer high-pressure washing, it might be a good idea to look elsewhere. Remember, the goal is to clean your house without causing any harm to your property. Thank you to our friends at PowerWashing Kings for this information!

Commercial pressure washing is a highly effective method for cleaning various surfaces, but it’s not universally safe for all materials. The high-pressure water stream can effectively remove dirt, grime, mold, and other unwelcome substances from many surfaces, such as concrete, brick, metal, and vinyl siding. However, the strength of the water stream can potentially cause damage if used improperly or on certain delicate surfaces.

For instance, softer materials like wood, old masonry, and certain types of paint may not withstand the intensity of commercial pressure washing. The high pressure can strip away paint, cause splintering in wood, or lead to erosion in old brickwork. Similarly, glass windows, certain types of plastic, and decorative elements might be damaged by the force of commercial pressure washing.

Therefore, while commercial pressure washing can be extremely beneficial for many surfaces, it’s important to assess the material before proceeding. If you’re unsure whether a surface can safely withstand pressure washing, it’s best to consult with a professional. They can recommend the appropriate pressure level and cleaning solution to use, ensuring the process is safe and effective without causing any unintended damage. This valuable information was provided by Pressure Power Pros!

The frequency with which you should pressure wash your driveway largely depends on the type of driveway you have and its exposure to various elements. However, as a general rule of thumb, it’s recommended to pressure wash your driveway at least once a year. This helps to remove accumulated dirt, grime, and oil stains that can degrade your driveway’s appearance over time.

In areas with heavy vehicle traffic or where the driveway is exposed to harsh weather conditions, more frequent cleanings might be necessary. For instance, if your driveway is under a tree that drops sap or berries, or if it’s frequently stained by oil leaks from vehicles, you may need to pressure wash it every six months. It’s also important to consider the type of material your driveway is made from. Concrete driveways are typically more resilient and can withstand frequent pressure washing, while asphalt driveways might require a gentler approach.

Remember, while pressure washing is an effective way to clean your driveway, it’s crucial to use the right amount of pressure. Too much pressure can cause damage, especially to asphalt driveways. If you’re unsure about how to properly pressure wash your driveway, consider hiring a professional service to ensure a thorough and safe cleaning. Commercial pressure washers are often more powerful and durable than their residential counterparts. They are engineered to manage larger, more demanding cleaning tasks and can handle more frequent use. This is primarily due to their ability to produce higher pressure, making them effective for tougher grime and larger surface areas. Their robust construction also contributes to their durability, allowing them to withstand the rigors of heavy-duty usage.

On the other hand, residential pressure washers are designed for less frequent, home-based tasks. They typically have lower pressure output, making them suitable for smaller, less grime-intensive cleaning jobs. While they can effectively clean a variety of surfaces around the home, they may not have the same lifespan or versatility as commercial models when faced with larger, more challenging tasks. When it comes to driveway pressure washing, the appropriate PSI (Pounds per Square Inch) can vary depending on the material of your driveway and the level of dirt or grime you’re dealing with. As a general guideline, a pressure washer with a PSI rating of 2000 to 3000 is often recommended for cleaning driveways made of concrete, asphalt, or pavers. This range of PSI is usually effective in removing common driveway stains and dirt.

However, if you’re dealing with a tougher cleaning job, such as heavy-duty cleaning of concrete driveways, sidewalks, and patios, a higher PSI may be required. In such cases, a PSI of 3000 to 4000 is often suggested. It’s important to note that while a higher PSI will speed up the cleaning process, using too much pressure can potentially damage the surface. For instance, most residential concrete is poured to a standard of 2500 PSI, so a pressure washer with a PSI rating of 4000 might be too much. Always remember to adjust the pressure according to your specific cleaning needs. Special thanks to Fresh Look Exterior for answering this question!
